MUSC nursing student Mary met Eli through mutual friends playing pickup soccer. The two went surfing for their first outing and made it a regular occurrence during lockdown. While on a trip to Anchorage, Alaska, to visit his family, Eli proposed on the highest point of the slopes at Alyeska Ski Resort.
