Though they both grew up in tiny Southport, North Carolina, Matthew and Jacqueline only met when they were in their twenties. A week before their wedding at Boone Hall Plantation, Hurricane Florence hit their hometown and they struggled to evacuate to Charleston. Over the following days, friends and family slowly followed and the Big Day went off without any other snags. Matthew, who owns Mansfield Heating & Air and Bald Head Island Heating & Air, and Jacqueline, who works at Duke Energy, honeymooned in St. Lucia.
