It was love at first sight for John and Tess, owners of The Bounty Bar and Simple Provisions catering, respectively, when they met in 2015 at a Christmas party hosted by mutual friend Xan McLaughlin. Seven years after that fateful December night, John proposed on the back porch of Asheville’s famed Grove Park Inn while the sun set over the mountains. The couple wed during a private, family-only ceremony in Tess’s hometown of Stone Harbor, New Jersey, returning to Charleston to hold a private dinner reception at John’s other restaurant, The Royal American.
