Though they both grew up in the Holy City, Tanner and Thomas met as freshmen at Clemson University and dated throughout college. After graduation, Thomas began his career in financial wealth management in Charleston, dating Tanner long-distance for three years while she worked in Jacksonville, Florida. The couple purchased a home in Mount Pleasant in 2021, and Thomas popped the question a month later in front of the Charleston Yacht Club.
