Amanda & Preston | The River Course at Kiawah Island



We love a pair who embrace big, bold statements and big, bold flavors with all the mannerly trappings in their Big Days. Enter Amanda and Preston, who not only hosted a posh wedding at The River Course at Kiawah Island with seriously stunning tables dressed in a vibrant blue and white ikat patterned linens, but also they served up a wedding cake from ABCD Cakes that reflected her cravings—pound cake with lemon curd and blueberries—and his—Funfetti and chocolate with Reese’s peanut butter filling. Now doesn’t that sound like the kind of gathering you want to sit smack in the middle of? As for their love story: The two met while working in western North Carolina as law students and dated while they wrapped up their degrees (Amanda at Emory University School of Law and Preston at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Law). In time, Preston proposed and surprised Amanda with a weekend trip to Kiawah Island to celebrate their engagement with their families. They returned to the island for their wedding weekend (both families had a history of vacationing there), and as for the gorgeous flowers and stunning tabletops, those were the doing of A Charleston Bride, the talented group tasked to make the bride’s vision of “modern meets Monet” come to life. Add a flower girl with an appliqué dress almost as charming as her smile, and you’ve got one fabulous affair to browse today. Enjoy, all!
