Becca & Tanner | The Creek Club at I’On

Becca and Tanner started dating when she was at Sweetbriar College and he was at Hampden Sidney College. Seven years after they started dating, they were happily ensconced in Charleston while he earned his MBA from The Citadel. One night out at their favorite restaurant downtown, Stella’s, dessert turned into an engagement when the waiter brought out a gorgeous sapphire ring (made with stones from Tanner’s stepmother’s family) and the groom-to-be fell to one knee. Becca and her mother teamed with The Petal Report and got to planning a summertime wedding colored with blue-and-white elements (those head-table plates were found at antique sales and now are part of the newlywed’s china) and a fair dose of red, white, and blue. As for the latter, “Our wedding was the weekend before the Fourth of July, one of our favorite holidays,” says Becca. Not only did they want to add a tribute to that, she says, but also they also wanted to infuse the day with a dose of patriotism. As for the pup that pops up on the cookies and elsewhere? That’s the couple’s fur baby, a 100-pound gal named Tallulah. Enjoy a taste of summer with this sweet day by the water at The Creek Club at I’On.
